Trotz elf Niederlagen in Folge halten die ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES an Cheftrainer Christian Held fest. Am Sonntagabend berieten der Vorstand und der Aufsichtsrat der ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES lange und ausf\u00fchrlich \u00fcber die aktuelle sportliche Situation. Seit dem 26. Dezember 2023 haben die SEAWOLVES in der easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) kein Spiel mehr gewonnen, in Summe waren es elf Niederlagen hintereinander. Zuletzt hatten die Rostocker drei Spiele \u00e4u\u00dferst knapp verloren (102:106 in Wei\u00dfenfels, 75:76 gegen Berlin, 86:88 in Heidelberg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
„Uns stehen nun elf Endspiele bevor, mit Christian Held als Head Coach der ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES. In der jetzigen Situation ist es wichtig, gemeinsam als Team diese Herausforderung anzugehen und zu bestehen. Christian Held genie\u00dft unser Vertrauen f\u00fcr diese Aufgabe“, sagt der Vorstandsvorsitzende Andr\u00e9 J\u00fcrgens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christian Held kam im Sommer 2020 nach Rostock und arbeitete zun\u00e4chst als Co-Trainer unter Dirk Bauermann. Zur Saison 2021\/2022 \u00fcbernahm Held das Amt als Head Coach und feierte mit den SEAWOLVES direkt den Aufstieg in die easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga. Die Premierensaison in der 1. Liga beendeten die W\u00f6lfe auf dem 9. Platz. In der aktuellen Saison coachte Held die Rostocker erstmals auch international und qualifizierte sich mit den SEAWOLVES f\u00fcr den FIBA Europe Cup. In der BBL kamen die Rostocker in dieser Spielzeit schwer in Fahrt und hatten immer wieder mit Verletzungsproblemen zu k\u00e4mpfen. Durch den Negativlauf von zuletzt elf Niederlagen in Serie rutschten die SEAWOLVES in der Tabelle gef\u00e4hrlich nah an die Abstiegsr\u00e4nge. Die Niederlage gegen den Vorletzten aus Heidelberg spitzte die Situation zu; aktuell haben die Rostocker als 15. nur noch einen Sieg Vorsprung auf ersten Abstiegsplatz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
„Ich bedanke f\u00fcr das in mich gesetzte Vertrauen. So eine Situation ist alles andere als normal, sondern extrem au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlicher Schritt. Ich wei\u00df das sehr zu sch\u00e4tzen. Jetzt geht es darum, diese gesamte Organisation – und das betrifft nicht nur die Profimannschaft, sondern alle Mitglieder, alle Jugendmannschaften und all das, was in den letzten Jahren hier in Rostock aufgebaut wurde – zu verteidigen und alles daf\u00fcr zu tun, weiterhin in der 1. Liga zu bleiben. Ich kann f\u00fcr meinen Teil und im Namen der Mannschaft sagen, dass wir alles investieren werden, weiterhin 100 Prozent zu geben und gemeinsam mit den Fans in der StadtHalle, aber auch ausw\u00e4rts, dieses gro\u00dfe Ziel Klassenerhalt erreichen und dass wir weiterhin Erstliga-Basketball in Rostock haben“, sagt Christian Held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
„In der aktuellen sportlichen Situation ist es wichtig, dass wir als Rostock Seawolves e.V. noch enger zusammenr\u00fccken. Wir haben mit Christian gro\u00dfartige Erfolge wie den Aufstieg in die BBL oder Europa zusammen erlebt und gefeiert. Auch diese schweren Zeiten werden wir gemeinsam meistern.
