Am Samstag, 01.06.2024, trafen sich die vier Rugbyvereine aus Mecklenburg und Vorpommern, um in Hornstorf bei Wismar den dritten Spieltag des MV-Cups im olympischen 7er-Rugby auszutragen. Im Modus jeder-gegen-jeden hatten sich die M\u00e4nner aus Rostock einiges vorgenommen. Da das Rostocker Team an den ersten beiden Spieltagen alle Spiele f\u00fcr sich entscheiden konnte, lag geh\u00f6rig Druck auf der jungen Mannschaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im ersten Match trafen gleich die beiden Topteams aus Rostock und Wismar aufeinander. Der Respekt voreinander war beiden Mannschaften von Beginn an anzumerken, doch die Freibeuter aus Wismar erwischten den deutlich besseren Start und konnten die teils v\u00f6llig fehlende Zuordnung im Rostocker Team mehrfach ausnutzen und schnell zu Punkten kommen. Gegen Ende des Spiels \u00fcberwanden die G\u00e4ste von der Warnow ihre Nervosit\u00e4t und konnten erste Versuche legen. Doch die 12:22 Auftaktniederlage konnte dieses Aufb\u00e4umen letztlich nicht mehr verhindern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das zweite Spiel der Rostocker gegen Fortuna Neuenkirchen bei Greifswald konnte wenig sp\u00e4ter viel \u00fcberzeugender gestaltet werden. Vielleicht hatten die Worte von Trainer Martin Gordon Hille nach der ersten Pleite der Saison das Team angespornt. Auf jeden Fall zeigten sie schnelles und dynamisches 7er-Rugby, welches die Fortuna immer wieder vor gro\u00dfe Probleme in der Verteidigung stellte. Am Ende stand ein deutlicher 31:5 Sieg f\u00fcr die Rostocker auf der Anzeigentafel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auch das letzte Spiel gegen das noch junge Team von Turbine Neubrandenburg begannen die Rostocker hochkonzentriert. In der Verteidigung wurde konsequent zugefasst und in der Offensive gab es viele schnelle L\u00e4ufe, denen die M\u00e4nner aus der Vier-Tore-Stadt oft nur hinterherschauen konnten. Insgesamt legten die Rostocker sechs Versuche und trafen dazu alle sechs dazugeh\u00f6rigen Erh\u00f6hungen, sodass es am Ende einen klaren und auch in der H\u00f6he verdienten 42:5 Sieg f\u00fcr das Team von Rugby Rostock zu verzeichnen gab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In den weiteren Spielen gewann Fortuna Neuenkirchen gegen Neubrandenburg mit 28:12, die Freibeuter Wismar besiegten Neubrandenburg mit 29:19 und das Spiel Wismar gegen Neuenkirchen gab es ein 17:7 f\u00fcr die Hausherren, die damit am dritten Spieltag des MV-Cups alle Spiele gewinnen konnten und sich souver\u00e4n den Turniersieg holen konnten. Zweiter wurden die Rostocker vor Neuenkirchen und Neubrandenburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nach dem Turnierende zeigte sich der Rostocker Coach Martin Gordon Hille zufrieden mit der Leistung seiner M\u00e4nner: \u201eWir haben den Start komplett verschlafen, waren sehr passiv und haben \u00fcberhaupt nicht das umgesetzt, was wir trainiert und besprochen haben. Die beiden anderen Spiele haben wir dann souver\u00e4n gewinnen k\u00f6nnen, da wir in beiden Spielen einfach unser Ding von Minute eins durchgezogen haben und dem Gegner keine Chance gelassen haben. Das Sahneh\u00e4ubchen war, dass wir drei Jungs zum ersten Mal spielen lassen konnten und alle drei total gut performt haben. Darauf sind wir sehr stolz!\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der finale Spieltag der MV-Cup-Serie findet am 29. Juni 2024 bei den Turbinen in Neubrandenburg statt. Dann wollen sich die Rostocker wieder von ihrer Schokoladenseite zeigen und mit einem Turniersieg den begehrten Pokal im 7er-Rugby in MV in die H\u00f6he stemmen. Bis dahin wird es im Training extra 7er-Rugby Einheiten geben, um besonders an der Schnelligkeit und der Taktik f\u00fcr das gro\u00dfe Finale zu feilen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
