Am Samstag fand in der Warnem\u00fcnder Strand Arena das mittlerweile vierte Beachrugbyturnier statt, mit dabei Teams aus ganz Deutschland und Schweden. Die weiteste Anreise hatten wahrscheinlich die Mannschaften aus H\u00fcrth, Regensburg und Heidelberg, aber auch viele alte Bekannte wie der SC Siemensstadt aus Berlin oder die Frauen des FC St. Pauli bereicherten das Starterfeld des beliebten Strandturniers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gespielt wurde am feinen Warnem\u00fcnder Strand auf einem 20×30 Meter gro\u00dfem Feld f\u00fcr 10 Minuten pro Partie. Wer schon einmal barfu\u00df einen Strandspaziergang in Warnem\u00fcnde unternommen hat, kann sich vorstellen, dass dieser schnelle und k\u00f6rperbetonte Sport den Athleten und Athletinnen alles abverlangt. Zudem gibt es keine Standardsituationen wie Seiteneinwurf (engl. Line-out) oder angeordnete Gedr\u00e4nge (engl. Scrum), sodass Beachrugby ein unglaublich schneller und dynamischer Sport ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bei den Frauen waren insgesamt f\u00fcnf Teams angereist und k\u00e4mpften im Modus jeder-gegen-jeden um die Krone im Beachrugby. Die Favoriten waren hier ganz klar die Titelverteidigerinnen des USV Jena, die im letzten Jahr den begehrten Pokal erobern konnten, doch auch die SG Halle\/Magdeburg sowie die gastgebenden Frauen der SG Hanse Ostsee, bestehend aus Spielerinnen aus Rostock, Wismar, L\u00fcbeck und Greifswald) rechneten sich Chancen auf den Gesamtsieg aus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00fcr die SG Ostsee gab es allerdings an diesem Tag nur wenige Punkte zu verzeichnen, zu dominant spielten die Frauen der anderen Teams. Oft waren die Frauen von der Ostseek\u00fcste dicht dran, doch immer wieder machten eigene Fehler in Angriff wie Verteidigung m\u00f6gliche Siege zunichte. Trotzdem zeigte das Team insgesamt viele gute Ans\u00e4tze und wird auch im n\u00e4chsten Jahr wieder neu angreifen und dann hoffentlich die \u201eRote Laterne\u201c des letzten Platzes abgeben k\u00f6nnen. Siegerinnen wurden am Ende erneut die Damen aus Jena vor der SG Halle\/Magdeburg und dem FC St. Pauli, die \u00fcber das gesamte Turnier tolle Tacklings sowie schnelles Angriffsspiel zeigten und damit verdient den Pokal in die H\u00f6he recken konnten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bei den Herren gingen die Gastgeber von Rugby Rostock mit gro\u00dfen Erwartungen in das Turnier, hatten sie doch letztmalig 2022 den begehrten Pokal gewinnen k\u00f6nnen. Durch die Gruppenphase kam das Team mit starken Leistungen gegen Halle und Erfurt relativ unbeschadet, sodass im Viertelfinale mit Stahl Hennigsdorf ein Team aus der zweiten Bundesliga auf den Verbandsligisten aus Rostock wartete. In dem erwartet schweren Spiel zeigten die Rostocker ihr ganzes K\u00f6nnen, mussten sich aber letztendlich dem Favoriten aus dem Berliner Speckg\u00fcrtel geschlagen geben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So ging es f\u00fcr die M\u00e4nner von der Warnow nur noch um einen m\u00f6glichen 5. Platz, der in einer harten aber stets fair gef\u00fchrten Partie am Ende siegreich errungen werden konnte. Gewinner im Gesamtklassement wurden die M\u00e4nner des TSV Handschuhsheim aus Heidelberg, die mit einigen erfahren Nationalmannschaftsspielern und mehreren talentierten Nachwuchsspielern an die Ostsee gereist waren. Sie setzten sich erst im Halbfinale gegen die Flying Pirates aus Berlin durch, um dann wenig sp\u00e4ter in einem packenden Endspiel auch die M\u00e4nner von Stahl Hennigsdorf zu besiegen. Im kleinen Finale gewannen die Titelverteidiger aus Berlin dann in einem engen Match gegen die South Coast Seals aus Trelleborg, Schweden, und sicherten sich damit den verdienten dritten Platz. Der Heidelberger Nationalspieler Justin Renc wurde im Anschluss bei der Siegerehrung zum besten Spieler des Turniers ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als dann alle Preise ausgeteilt waren, fasste Turnierleiter Andr\u00e9 Goeda den Tag zufrieden zusammen: \u201eWir haben heute einen wunderbaren Beachrugbytag in der Warnem\u00fcnder Strand Arena erleben d\u00fcrfen. Die Teams kamen aus ganz Deutschland, um bei uns an der Ostsee Rugby zu spielen. Es war eine gro\u00dfartige Stimmung auf der Trib\u00fcne und rund um die Felder zu sp\u00fcren und die Mannschaften haben auf dem Platz alles gegeben. Es war wirklich beste Werbung f\u00fcr den Rugbysport in Rostock, in M-V und ganz Deutschland. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf das n\u00e4chste Jahr.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
