373 Schwimmerinnen und Schwimmer trotzen beim 26. Vilmschwimmen den Elementen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Wer am 23. August 2025 beim 26. Internationalen Vilmschwimmen an den Start ging, musste mehr als nur Schwimmkraft beweisen: Starker West-Nordwest-Wind, str\u00f6mender Regen, gerade einmal 12 Grad Lufttemperatur und drohende Gewitter machten das Traditionsrennen vor der Insel Vilm zu einer echten Herausforderung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trotz dieser widrigen Bedingungen lie\u00dfen sich 373 Schwimmerinnen und Schwimmer nicht aufhalten. Die Veranstalter \u2013 die DLRG Bergen R\u00fcgen e.V. gemeinsam mit dem DRK-Kreisverband R\u00fcgen\/Stralsund \u2013 hatten rechtzeitig reagiert: Der Start wurde um eine Stunde verschoben, die Strecke von 2,5 auf 2 Kilometer verk\u00fcrzt und ein sicherer Dreieckskurs aus dem Lauterbacher Hafen heraus abgesteckt. Als gegen Mittag der Startschuss fiel, k\u00e4mpften sich die Athleten mutig durch Wind und Wellen \u2013 angefeuert von Zuschauern, die den tapferen Teilnehmern trotz des Dauerregens die Daumen dr\u00fcckten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besonders erfreulich: Auch in diesem Jahr zog das Event nicht nur viele Einheimische an \u2013 insgesamt 43 R\u00fcganer und Hiddenseer M\u00e4nner und Frauen. Sogar Schwimmer aus Spanien und Finnland zog es auf die Insel Vilm. Damit unterstreicht das Vilmschwimmen einmal mehr seinen internationalen Charakter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein weiteres Highlight war das \u201eKleine Vilmschwimmen\u201c: 46 Kinder und Jugendliche wagten sich auf Strecken \u00fcber 100, 200 oder 400 Meter. Mit dabei waren gleich 12 Nachwuchstalente aus den Reihen der DLRG Bergen R\u00fcgen. F\u00fcr die Organisatoren ein wichtiges Signal, denn die Zukunft des Vilmschwimmens liegt klar beim jungen Nachwuchs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trotz des st\u00fcrmischen Tages blieb am Ende vor allem eines h\u00e4ngen: das Gemeinschaftsgef\u00fchl. Ob Jung oder Alt, Einheimische oder G\u00e4ste \u2013 beim Vilmschwimmen herrscht eine famili\u00e4re Atmosph\u00e4re, die jedes Jahr aufs Neue Schwimmbegeisterte an den R\u00fcgischen Bodden zieht. Und die Vorfreude auf die 27. Auflage 2026 ist schon jetzt gro\u00df.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
