Seit mehr als 45 Jahren engagiert sich Eckhardt Wallmuth kontinuierlich f\u00fcr den Ringsport in Stralsund und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. F\u00fcr seine pr\u00e4gende Arbeit ist er nun mit der Ehrennadel des Landes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ausgezeichnet worden. Am Sonnabend, dem 6. Dezember, \u00fcberreichten dem 65-J\u00e4hrigen Ministerpr\u00e4sidentin Manuela Schwesig und Sportministerin Stefanie Drese in Schwerin Nadel und Urkunde. Die Ehrung fand im Rahmen des landesweiten Tags des Ehrenamtes statt, bei dem insgesamt 37 Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten aus ganz MV gew\u00fcrdigt wurden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wallmuth z\u00e4hlt zu den tragenden Figuren des Ringkampfsports im Land. Als Vizepr\u00e4sident f\u00fcr Leistungssport sowie Aus- und Fortbildung im Ringerverband MV und als 1. Vorsitzender des Hanseatischen Athletikclubs Stralsund (HAC) hat er \u00fcber Jahrzehnte Strukturen aufgebaut, Talente gef\u00f6rdert und sportliche Entwicklungen ma\u00dfgeblich mitgestaltet. Unter seiner Regie gelang es dem Stralsunder Verein immer wieder, Nachwuchsringer zu nationalen und internationalen Meisterschaften zu entsenden \u2013 verbunden mit zahlreichen Erfolgen auf der Matte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doch der geb\u00fcrtige Stralsunder steht nicht nur f\u00fcr sportliche Fachkompetenz, sondern auch f\u00fcr gesellschaftliches Engagement. Wallmuth ist seit vielen Jahren als Integrationscoach aktiv. 2022, unmittelbar nach Beginn des Ukrainekriegs, \u00f6ffnete er ohne zu z\u00f6gern die T\u00fcren des HAC f\u00fcr gefl\u00fcchtete Kinder und Jugendliche und bot ihnen im Verein eine sportliche Heimat. Bereits 2019 z\u00e4hlte er beim 1. Stralsunder Sportlerball zu den Nominierten des Integrationspreises. Seine Verdienste wurden zuvor schon mit der Ehrennadel des Landessportbundes in Silber (2019) sowie der Ehrennadel des Stralsunder Sportbundes und der Hansestadt Stralsund (2018) gew\u00fcrdigt. Ein weiterer H\u00f6hepunkt seiner ehrenamtlichen Laufbahn war die Organisation der Deutschen U17-Meisterschaften im griechisch-r\u00f6mischen Stil im Jahr 2024 in Stralsund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mit der Ehrennadel des Landes findet dieses jahrzehntelange Wirken nun eine besondere Anerkennung. Die Landesregierung w\u00fcrdigte an diesem Tag Menschen, die \u2013 wie Schwesig betonte \u2013 \u201eZeit aufbringen f\u00fcr andere\u201c und damit den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern st\u00e4rken. In diesem Kreis steht Eckhardt Wallmuth stellvertretend f\u00fcr die vielen Ehrenamtlichen, die den Sport im Land am Laufen halten \u2013 und zugleich f\u00fcr ein au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliches pers\u00f6nliches Lebenswerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
