Weltcup in Polen statt, wieder mit einer hohen Teilnehmerzahl. 19 Nationen hatten ihre Fechter in die polnische Hauptstadt geschickt, um an einer letzten internationalen Vorbereitung f\u00fcr die Paralympics teilzunehmen. Aus Mecklenburg-Vorpommern reisten der Landesmeister Dimitrij Rout und Heimtrainer Oleksander Bondar an, aus Tauberbischofsheim Simone Briese-Baetke, die Bundestrainerin Stefanija Jurisic und Philipp Pleier sowie der Paralympicsteilnehmer Christian Andree.<br \/>\nSimone Briese-Baetke konnte gleich am ersten Tag punkten und erreichte im Degen Cat. B die Bronzemedaille, sie musste sich nur Chan aus Hongkong sowie Lukianenko aus der Ukraine geschlagen geben. Sie erreichte damit den 3. Platz von 13. Teilnehmerinnen.<br \/>\nDer Mecklenburger Rout hatte einen gr\u00f6\u00dferen Teilnehmerpool zu bew\u00e4ltigen. Gleich 34 potentielle Gegner waren angetreten im Degen (Cat.A). Der Heimtrainer Bondar gab das Ziel vor: \u201eUnter die ersten 16 zu kommen, ist das Ziel. Wir wollen uns verbessern und schrittweise nach vorne arbeiten.\u201c Am Ende erreichte Rout den 17. von 34 Pl\u00e4tzen. \u201eDas Ziel ist zu 99 % erreicht\u201c, sagte Oleksander Bondar nach Ende des letzten Kampfes. \u201eEr hat die Kondition und das Talent und damit gute Chancen, die Leistungskurve nach oben zu schrauben, aber er muss auch an sich arbeiten. Ohne viel Arbeit geht es nicht.\u201c Christian Andree erwischte einen schlechten Tag und kam nicht \u00fcber die Vorrunde hinaus. Am Ende wurde er 32. von 34 Teilnehmern.<br \/>\nIm S\u00e4bel erwischte Rout einen Pool mit Luis Miguel Redondo (ESP) und Tom Hall-Butcher (GBR), Stefan Makowski (Pol), Sergey Frolov (Rus) und dem sp\u00e4teren Silbermedaillengewinner Wing Kin Chan aus Hongkong. Hier gewann er drei von f\u00fcnf Vorrundenk\u00e4mpfen, unterlag dann aber im Wiederholungsmatch gegen Sergey Frolov 15:10. Er erreichte damit den 13. von 23 Pl\u00e4tzen.
